If you are looking for a place where you can study or do PC work near Onnut station, I highly recommend Chant’s Cafe.

This cafe is on Sukhumvit Soi 58, located in between BTS Onnut and Bangchak station and is walkable from both stations.

The Wi-Fi is relatively fast with plenty of plug-ins I would come here frequently if I was living in Onnut.

The Atmosphere of this cafe

While walking down Sukhumvit 58 you’ll see the cafe on your left-hand side.

When looking at the cafe from the outside it has a townhouse look.

Inside, is a relatively fancy and pleasant atmosphere.

The cafe has 2 floors and this is a picture of the 1st floor from the entrance.

On your left is the counter table and on your right are weird looking seats screwed on the walls.

The 1st floor is mainly for customers waiting for their take-out orders.

When I come here I usually get a seat on the 2nd floor. This picture is the 1st floor taken from the 2nd floor.

The interior is quite fancy and a relatively easy to go in since many locals come here for coffee.

They have a terrace in the far back of the 1st floor. Nothing fancy about it. It is just an ordinary smoking space.

The terrace seats are in between the stairs of the 1st and 2nd floor so it’s easy to get out and have a smoke.

Stairs to the 2nd floor at the very back of the cafe in front of the terrace seats.

The 2nd floor looks like this. The 2 tables on your left seem to be good for nomad work, such as studying or PC work.

The seats on the right have low tables which makes PC work difficult.

At the back is a quite fancy looking sofa good to just sit back and relax.

You’re going to have to sit side by side so I think it’s more of a couples’ seat.

But it’s not a seat for couples flirting so I would seat there to relax and have a break after working.

The double high ceilings were making me wonder if it were well air-conditioned, but it seems to be quite chilly.

Chant’s Cafe’s Menu

The cafe was in a local area so I thought the prices were lower and would probably get an Ice Latte for about 40 THB.

Therefore, when I saw the prices on the menu I felt it was expensive and was a bit surprised.

But they are still around 100THB within my allowable range.

I’ve just noticed as of this moment while blogging, that they offer Vietnamese egg coffee!

I’ve tried them a few times in Hanoi but the taste differs from place to place and its a hit or a miss.

I will try them here next time.

Like this, they serve from signature dishes like menu to light sweets

I got the MATCHEE, it was quite thick and was delicious.

It is well worth the money for a fancy type nomad cafe, considering that it is close to Onnut and Bangchak.

This is the place for nomad if you are looking for space around Onnut and Bangchak

First of all, there are no nomad cafes around Bangchak station. (Let me know if there are!)

In a walkable range from Onnut for PC work, cafes like Trica or Better Moon exists,

But if you think about it overall I highly recommend Chant’s Cafe.

The main reason why I like about this cafe is that whenever I go, the seats around here on the 2nd floor are open.

I said whenever I go, but I’ve only come here a few times, but the seats are open every time.

As I said before, there are people who get coffee on the go but few people stay at the cafe.

By the way, I was here for about 3 hours when I took these photos but people who came upstairs were only one group of Thai student couple.

I’ve never been here at night so I do not know what its like but during the day on a weekday there are very few people.

The overview of Chant’s Cafe

Cafe with Wi-Fi, plug-ins, and a terrace where you can smoke at a walkable distance from the station.

Moreover, the staff does not come upstairs unless you want them to so they leave you alone in a good sense.

For these reasons, I believe this is the best nomad cafe near Onnut.

I prefer cafes with fewer people and more privacy so it suites me. But I do not want this cafe to close down so come here when you get the chance.
